[CALIBK12] loss of 526 tags

My District just upgraded from Follett's Circulation Plus to Follett's Destiny Library Manager.  One of the "enhancements" of Destiny Library Manager is that the 526 tag is swept into a table that is then available, at additional cost, as a subscription product.  The 526 tag does not exist, and can't be added to MARC records, in Destiny Library Manager.  
   
  I protested the loss of 526 tags and was told: "The Product Design Team is considering making the 526 tag available to librarians.  This may happen in a few months."
   
  Is this legal?  Is it ethical?  Does anyone know a "work around?"
