A world history teacher colleague and I are working on a one-day whammy to get kids using library resources for a project comparing and contrasting the stock market crash of 1929 and the current economic uncertainty. Some measures were implemented after the 1929 crash that are intended to prevent a reoccurence, but there is real fear out there--and the economic downturn impacts our state budget and school spending. I'm looking for a suggestion on how to approach this topic so that everyone doesn't look at the same issues but they all get a piece of the puzzle. The point is to figure out what causes a stock market crash.

I'm supposed to be observed by an assistant principal on this day and I want this lesson to be something that even get him involved and something he thinks about afterwards.

I'm open to suggestions you may have.

Diane
