[CALIBK12] Classroom Discussion Blogs

If any of your schools are using a blog to discuss
class novels, I could use your help!

One of my teachers has come to me for help setting up
a classroom discussion blog to get students more
engaged in the novels they read.  I'd like to show her
some examples of other successful online discussions. 
Are any of you doing something like this?  

She will be starting Animal Farm in a few weeks and
thought students could post one question per week and
respond twice to someone else's post.  She wasn't sure
how to grade or manage the postings.  

These are low level (many ELL) 9th graders who failed
English last year.  I thought she may need to make it
more structured by posting the topic for each chapter
with some questions to consider.  

Any help you can give on this is appreciated.
