[CALIBK12] Article in Scholastic Administrator

Very interesting article, George.
I don't agree with every comment by the "experts," e.g. "'Materials can't be
old,' she [Sara Kelly Johns, pres. of AASL] says flatly." But I understand
the need for advocates to push the edge of the envelope. Interesting, too,
that of three folks interviewed for the article, one is a librarian and two
are technology people.
The last comment, that "[i]n the near future everything will revolve around
the school library media center" is something we've been saying forever. How
and when will that future finally arrive when most schools don't have
teacher librarians much less sophisticated library programs?
At least it has the potential to give the administrators who read it food
for thought and (perhaps) guilty consciences about how they've decimated
library programs around the country.
