[CALIBK12] Charlie and the chocolate factory

Hi all,

What is your opinion about using Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a
READ ALOUD book to 1st and 2nd graders?    I haven't read the book in a
zillion years, but I remember it being a bit "dark" (true to Dahl).
What are your thoughts?  I have  a teacher needing an  immediate (of
course) response!!
