Do you have a federated searching tool, or are you thinking about
getting one? Federated search is an important tool that enables
libraries to give users what they want: good information, quickly,
and easily. A brief discussion of the mechanics of fed search tool
will be followed by a discussion of recent developments in the field.
What are the best practices for implementing and configuring you
federated search? Tune in and find out

Learning to Question and Questioning to Learn
http://tinyurl.com/3d3wzo

Two-part AUDIO CONFERENCE COURSE with Carol Koechlin—$195.00

Inquiry-based learning starts with developing an environment of
curiosity and wonderment – one in which learners are encouraged to
think deeply and question broadly. One of the keys for educators is
to understand the skill and attitude of “questioning” themselves, and
to have a rich bank of strategies to use when working with students.
This session will be useful to both new and experienced educators.

FRIDAY, JAN 11, 1:00 pm ET/10:00 am PT
Liaison Librarianship: Pushing Beyond the Traditional Roles
http://tinyurl.com/2s3ftg

One hour AUDIO CONFERENCE with Stuart David von Wolff—$85.00

Liaison librarianship has traditionally focused mainly on either
specific collections and subject areas, or particular academic
programs and disciplines. This presentation, while in no way
detracting from these past approaches, builds upon this foundation.
Drawing on experiences liaising with international students, Stuart
advocates the benefits of “thinking outside the box” when it comes to
perceptions of liaison functions.

http://tinyurl.com/38w729

One hour AUDIO CONFERENCE with Michael Stephens—$85.00

Michael has been bringing us the newest technologies for several
years now. What will he bring us in 2008? What technologies and
trends should librarians be watching? What’s the next big thing as we
move into 2008? Join librarian and Tame the Web blogger Michael
Stephens for a discussion of ten technologies to be aware of now and
beyond. We’ll touch on planning, people, and participation as well.

Organization 2.0
http://tinyurl.com/34wu3l

One hour AUDIO CONFERENCE with Rebecca Jones—$85.00

Social software, digital tools, and new ways of working demand new
roles, competencies, and working arrangements. From virtual branch
managers to digital coaches to matrixed management, our libraries and
information services are responding with innovative structures,
processes, and solutions. This session focuses on the most critical
component for any digital environment: the people.
