I can't even give ours away. People call to donate them from their basements all the time. I used to take them and go through them for the "good stuff".
Not anymore. We dump all but the last 3 months.

Hi Sandy,

We use to archive National Geographic for years (they were very seldom referenced). We disposed of them and now retain only 3-6 months back issues. We give the old copies to the art, science, and social studies departments and students for student projects when requested

How many previous years of periodicals to you keep in your school libraries? Do you keep more of National Geographic than other titles?

No one actually uses ours and we are running out of storage space, but it seems un-librarianish to toss them!
