There is the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum on Wilshire Bld. in Los Angeles and the Japanese American Museum in Los Angeles. Both have programs for class visits.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Need An Alternate to Museum of Tolerance
Hi, everyone!
I have three fifth grade classes that traditionally go to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles to conclude their two-month unit on World War II, specifically covering the Holocaust and Japanese-American internment. Now, the Museum of Tolerance is closed for a remodel, so we currently have nowhere to go for our field trip in March. Does anyone have any alternate suggestions? My school is located in Pasadena, so we're willing to go just about anywhere within a 90-minute drive.
Library programs or museums would be great. I am also hoping to get suggestions for guest speakers to come to our school, and special programs that could be presented to my fifth graders. I trust the calib collective great brain will be of great assistance, and I will be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Tatiana Guyer
