[CALIBK12] Author Visit in Sacramento Area?

Dear Colleagues

One of our elementary library techs is interested in having an author visit her school this spring. She doesn't have anyone particular in mind.
Is anyone in the Sacramento (or other area close to Lake Tahoe) hosting an author this spring that we might "piggyback" on to?

I'll confess that I've never hosted an author before (nor has the tech). The whole thing makes me nervous. Any advice on ensuring that the event comes off smoothly?
