[CALIBK12] Laptops for students required?

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen:
My principal has somehow gotten the idea that most high schools in the state are purchasing laptops for every student to use in class and take home with them for assignments. As we are a private school, he is looking into requiring each of our students to purchase their own laptops. I am wondering whether the effect on learning is worth the expense. What say you all?
