Kelly,
CSUS (Sac State) in Sacramento has a one year credentialing
program that is pretty intense (almost every Friday and Saturday for a
year) but it's taught by working librarians, is centered on practice,
not theory, and is run by Penny Kastanis, a truely wonderful person.

Dear Friends,
I am currently employed as a librarian at a middle school. My
employment
is contingent on getting my LMT credential (Is it now officially
called
TLC-Teacher Librarian Credential?). I am confused as to which program
will
best serve my needs, and am hoping you who have recently been through
library school will give me your opinions. I am looking at CSULB,
SJSU,
and Azusa Pacific, but am open to look at anything. I am 44 years-old,
just finished my teaching credential, still have to do BTSA (BTW - do
TL's
have to do that? Can it be waived?), and frankly do not relish
spending
two years-worth of Saturdays at school (CSULB). I am not afraid of
computers or online classes. Any advice/opinions you can give will be
greatly appreciated! Also, if you did a Master's along with the LMT,
was
it worthwhile? You may reply to me off-line if you wish
(kbenning at lvusd.org). Thanks so very much - I've learned a lot from
your
collective genius!
Kelly Benning
