Hi-
Thanks to everyone who responded about the video book review on my
blog. I'm so glad you liked it! Several people asked for directions
so here they are.
Making a Video Book Review
Needed:
Computer with movie making software
Video camera with microphone or built in video/audio capabilities
Script for students to fill out
Avatar
Blog?blogger.com is easy to use and free for safety you might
want to remove the navigation bar (I can send you the HTML code to do
this if you need it)
I used a MacBook with a built in camera and microphone.
1. Give script to students. They need to fill it out and practice
it. (I?ll attach this file for you)
2. Decide on avatar?.this can be a stuffed animal or I also have
a ?disguise? for students to wear for my mystery book club which
is a Sherlock Holmes style hat and glasses/nose/mustache.
3. Set up the avatar and have the student sit to one side.
5. Open iMovie .
6. Click on the built in camera icon, and frame the avatar or the
student, and have the student read from their script.
7. Add titles from iMovie.
8. Add music. I just used music clips from the iMovie library of
jingles.
(You can make the music softer than the voice by
clicking on the little volume icon on the first frame of your movie
and setting the music to 10%-15% This is called ducking)
9. Go to top menu bar to Share and export using QuicktTime.
10. On blogger.com there is a movie icon in the toolbar for your
post. You select the movie and it uploads it to your blog, then you
publish your blog. The upload takes a little time.

that magic threshold into a library, we change their lives forever,
