There is a new Teacher Librarian position opening up in Berkeley (Alameda
County). It is a .6 FTE position at B-Tech Academy, our continuation high
school, and is a great opportunity to build upon the existing fledgling
library and bring it fully to life as a 21st Century library program. The
principal, staff and students at B-Tech are dynamic folks, and the
Berkeley community is very supportive of Library Services throughout the
district. The approach of the school, in a nutshell: "B-Tech provides an
uncompromising, rigorous education for all our students and aims to
reverse underachievement in students performing below their potential.
B-Tech recognizes that students who have difficulty achieving in a
traditional school environment are generally the most demanding, creative,
and intellectually apt pupils."
The Teacher Librarian (Library Media Teacher) position at B-Tech Academy
will be posted on EdJoin by today, July 1. Please direct your applications
to that posting, but if you have any questions I'd be happy to reply via
email (I'm not in the office for July).
