[CALIBK12] Roadtrip with a 4th grade boy recommendation?

I thought of Tangerine by Edward Bloor as a possible choice, but it might be a little creepy for a soon-to-be 5th grader.   Any ideas?   Hmm, titles that would address fun, adventure, imagination, maybe with a good message underneath that doesn't hit you over the head?   I will post a list to the group.
