??? From the Streets to the Stove. From Cocaine to Foie Gras. That's the subtext to Chef Jeff Henderson's amazing life story told in his new book "Cooked"
??? Today, the Cafe Bellagio executive chef tells his extraordinary journey of redemption to Oprah Winfrey. But LUXE LIFE has the full details first. From when he was earning $35,000 a week as a cocaine dealer to the 20-year sentence in the big house on San Pedro's Terminal Island federal penitentiary and, upon release, landing a job in Vegas, where he used to play "highroller" gambling with his illegal drug earnings!
??? "Prison saved my life," he said.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Looking for a title seen on Oprah
Dear Esteemed Calibk'ers,
I am looking book that I saw on Oprah a couple of years ago. It was not a part of her book club. I've?been to her web site, searched the web, but have had no luck locating it. For the life of me, I can't remember the title. I do remember that the author, an Africian-American, was on the cover.
It's an autobiography. The author was a former gang leader who was sent to prison. I do not remember for what crime, exactly. Eventually, to occupy his time while incarcerated he read.?For the first time in his life, he?read, and finished,?a book. This led to a life-changing epiphany-he realized he was smart.?He worked in the kitchen?of the prison, and eventually began to cook for the other inmates. His food was so tasty that the inmates would?get excited when he was cooking. When he was released from prison, he managed to get a job at a large Las Vegas hotel (after much begging for them to take a chance on him) in the kitchen where he worked his way up to chef.

Help me Calibk'ers, you're my only hope!
