[CALIBK12] Summer Reading for Pleasure

I've been reading the Nevada Barr mystery series -- the main character
is a National Park Ranger and each book takes place at another national
park. Great twists, suspense, and incredible description with broad
vocabulary. I picked up most of the series at "M" is for Mystery
independent bookstore. I only allow myself to read this kind of
fast-paced pleasure reading while at my local YMCA -- I can read it
while walking at 3.5 on the treadmill at a slant of 15-20, burning away
500-1000 calories a day. It is the best way to exercise after an
intense day glued to a computer. Right now, Ana Pigeon, Park Ranger, is
at Rocky Mountain National Park. Watch out for the grizzlies, but
especially beware of humans.

My husband and I just finished Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer. It
is a modern day take on the Count of Monte Cristo. My husband enjoyed it
so much he read Dumas' original: unabridged, 1400 pages, in French (just
kidding it was a relatively new English translation...)!

The time has come to pick up at least one book to read for
simple pleasure. What's on your list? Last year some of the
recommended titles were fantastic.

(I will compile a list and post.)

	Have a wonderful summer!
