Good idea that is really taking off:

 

I have been developing an informal  collection of audiobooks for staff.  A
few cassette sets, mostly CDs, all kinds of titles. I get all of these
through donations, or pick them up at garage sales for cheap. I don't
catalog them, just stick on a card in a pocket and shelve them behind the
circ desk; strictly self-serve.  Staff can sign them out for all long as
they want. This motley assortment  is proving to be very popular. Teachers
are checking them out for the whole summer, to listen to on car trips. 

This has been a fun, free, and effortless  way to  bring in teachers who
otherwise may not use the library-adds a little spark to the place. My
library clerk loves these things and has taken it on as her project.
