[CALIBK12] HIT LIST: Library automation software

All,

I received many responses to forward on the library automation issue. It's interesting to see how strongly people feel-love their software or hate it!

I do want to add-because some were concerned that a group of parent volunteers would be working in the dark-that two of the parent volunteers are college librarians. The school has many wonderful programs, and the parents now want to see the library as one of them. They do want a qualified librarian, and they are advocating for this. I think it would be interesting to go back in a few years and see how things have changed.


Some of you indicated that you would like a HIT list. Attached is the list of responses I got about library software. First are general comments, and then I tried to organize the comments by the system being discussed. I left the names of the respondents, as some indicated that they wouldn't mind a call about the system or a visit to see the system in action.
