I thank everyone that responded to my request for Expository Fiction.
Unfortunately, I have nothing to report as everyone responded with the
same thing I thought when I received the request, that these are
contradictory terms. I thought maybe I was loosing something with this
request that I could not pull a single book out of my head. I really
thought this was something new that I had not encountered before.
With so many people drawing the same conclusions, I went back to the
teacher and asked for further clarification of the request and finally
determined what the teacher was after was a historical fiction book that
the students can use to write a factual paper. Her example was The Diary
of Anne Frank and to use some of the information to write a paper about
the war. (She couldn't use that book as it is used in another grade
level.)
With the new information I received, I was able to then give the teacher
a handful of books to meet her needs and we settled on Fever, 1793 by
Anderson.
I thank all that did take the time to respond back to me.

P.S. As I was typing this response, I received an email from Jackie that
recommended Avi's "Nothing but the truth" as a possible title. Again,
thanks for taking time to respond.
