[CALIBK12] CSLA Southern Section Region 2 Workshop March 29

Dear CALIB friends,

Do you feel overwhelmed trying to organize all the many aspects of running a
school library? It's not too late to come find solutions at the CSLA
Southern Section Region 2 Workshop on Saturday, March 29, from 8:45 A.M. to
12 Noon at Taft High School Library in Woodland Hills, right off the 101
Freeway at Winnetka & Ventura Blvd.

Presenters at the workshop will include three Region 2 members. Marc McPhee,
Teacher-Librarian & Technology Coordinator at the Northridge Academy and
Part-time lecturer with the CSULB LMT Credential program, will discuss
"Organizing Your Library Schedule with Google Calendar."  Find out how to
create a free Google calendar and how to both embed and link to your Google
calendar from a school library web site or blog. Get tips for successfully
using Google calendar in your library to keep your schedule organized and
accessible to all. As a bonus, Marc will provide handouts with other ideas
for using technology to keep your library organized.  Mark Bobrosky,
Teacher-Librarian at Walter Reed Middle School and National Board Certified
Teacher, and Karen Gonzalez, Teacher-Librarian at Arleta High School, will
co-present "We Run It Our Way" offering tricks and proven methods to run a
busy library efficiently. 

After the presentations, all participants will have an opportunity to share
their own organizational best practices, which we will compile and post
online after the workshop. 

The workshop will include refreshments and door prizes. The door prizes are
courtesy of Bound to Stay Bound and Junior Library Guild ..  All CSLA
members may attend free of charge.  Admission for non-members is $25.
