Just rec'd a copy of "The Reading Teacher, 61 (4), pp.308-315 (Dec. '07,
Jan. '08) which has an article by Heidi Trudel, "Making Data-Driven
Decisions:  Silent Reading".  Have not yet read it.  Stephen Krashen
sends out many emails re. reading, a number of them re. SSR.  Anyone who
is interested can contact me offline and I'll try to retrieve them.  A
M.S. TL presented a session at AASL in Reno, and I have her book, SSR
with Intervention; a School Library Action Research Project by Leslie B.
Preddy.  It contains statistics that show an increase in test scores at
her school.  I will contact a TL who presented at Sacramento and post
her stats. later.
