21st Century Communication for Managers: Critical Issues
http://tinyurl.com/29o3mb

1-hour Audio Conference with Julie Todaro - $85.00

Last in a series. Good communication is the key to success in almost
any relationship in the workplace. The interconnected world of the
21st century offers so many new and emerging ways to communicate.
Some of our current understandings will be as appropriate as ever,
but if we ignore the new and emerging world of communications, we
will be left far behind, and risk becoming irrelevant.

Tour of Info Island, Second Life
http://tinyurl.com/2ynmj4

1-hour Web Conference with Jill Hurst-Wahl - $109.95

This session provides a tour of the resources and facilities
available in Second Life, the popular on-line virtual world. Seeing
is understanding, and this tour allows you to see Second Life – and
specifically InfoIsland and the InfoIsland Archipelago – for
yourself. InfoIsland was the first land mass purchased for libraries,
librarians and library patrons. Since its founding, a growing number
of allied islands have joined what is now called the InfoIsland
Archipelago. Join our experienced "Second Lifer" and tour guide for
an interesting and learning experience. See the possibilities for
your library's involvement in Second Life.

Module Two of the Strategic Frameworks Series: Planning for Planning,
Data Gathering
http://tinyurl.com/3xfupu

1-hour Audio Conference with Ken Haycock - $85.00

Part 1 in a 4-part series. What do we mean by strategic planning? How
is it any different from general planning? And what do those buzz
words mean? What is a SWOT analysis? What are PESTS? How do you
conduct a community needs assessment? What are the data gathering
processes? Does it need to take a lot of time?
Furthermore, who does what? If it is the Board’s plan, do they
develop it? Where does collaboration with senior staff begin and
end?  Learn the steps in planning to plan; learn what the terms mean;
learn approaches without pain or major time commitments; and learn
how planning based on evidence makes a stronger contribution to
community development.

Wednesday, March 19, 2:00 pm ET, 11:00 am PT
Open Source in Libraries and Higher Education
http://tinyurl.com/37ycd3

1-hour Web Conference with Mark Leggott - $109.95
Open source software is increasingly an option for all facets of the
operation of an academic institution. This session will provide a
general overview of the open source landscape for academic
institutions and libraries in particular, including debunking the
myths, outlining the advantages, and highlighting key applications in
use today.

Does RFID Belong in Your Library?
http://tinyurl.com/2p9qkl

This session will provide participants with information on why and
how to implement RFID systems in libraries. The author's book focuses
on installations in the US and Canada and the impact RFID has made on
the workflow of libraries. In this session, Ms. Ward will discuss
building a business case for RFID and how to assess if RFID is right
for your library. Question and answer time will expand and help
personalize the participant experience.
