FYI:
EETT has been around for several years, given it is a part of NCLB.
See http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/profile.asp?id=1289
>From my perspective, the library angle includes:
* EETT can be used for professional development, so substitute
time and related time costs of CL2.0 and SLL2.0 could be covered.
Contact your district IT person and recommend that the district seek
funds for offering the two web 2.0 courses to teachers. If you have
already completed SLL2.0, offer to lead or co-lead the effort. Let me
know if you would like a copy of the CSLA 2.0 Team "Management/Users
Guide." NOTE: "A minimum of 25% of the grant must be spent on
high-quality professional development."
* Focus is MIDDLE SCHOOL (grades 4-8) -- yes, but what prevents a
whole K-12 district from offering professional development?
* EETT can be used for communications technology. See what other
successful applications have included.
* The district technology plan is required for EETT as well as
E-RATE applications. This is a good time to get your district library
plan integrated into the district technology plan, if you haven't done
so already!
Take action! Be visible. Offer your expertise in web 2.0, curriculum
connections, and graduate level professional development!
Best wishes.
