Here is an awesome opportunity to apply for some funding to furnish and
upgrade a school library: 
 
DEMCO/Betty Barkema School Library Improvement Grant
The purpose of the DEMCO/Betty Barkema School Library Improvement Grant
is to provide library furniture, supplies, and promotional materials
necessary to create a stimulating learning environment. The amount of
the grant is $5,000. Applicants must be CSLA members. It is the intent
of the California School Library Association and DEMCO, Inc., the grant
sponsor, that this grant be used to move a substandard library toward

the application.
 
Applications are due by April 30, 2008. The winner will be announced at
the California School Library Association's conference in Sacramento.
