Hello everyone,
Does anyone have a policy in regards to moldy books being returned to
parents? Normally we seal moldy books in a bag since we are often asked to
"prove" the damage prior to parents paying for it. Once we prove the damage
we toss the moldy book. We have several parents upset because we haven't
returned the damaged books they've paid for since they were moldy. We've
always figured the mold is a health risk so why keep it around any longer
than we have to.
If you do return the moldy books once they are paid for, do you have them
sign a waiver of any kind?
Thank you,
Amber

"Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and
find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child
learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open."
-- Laura Bush, First Lady

of people who think decorating consists mostly of building
enough bookshelves."
