Dear Library Advocates,

As we are all organizing in our own districts to preserve library
services, we must also plan ahead to Library Legislative Day on April 16
in Sacramento. I hope you have all noted Crystal Miranda's message about
attending! As a joint effort of CSLA, CLA and CALTAC, this event focuses
legislators' attention on the services all types of libraries provide for
their constituents, and underscores the need for state support of these
essential civic and educational agencies.

Those attending the CSLA school library caucus the evening of April 15 who
are looking for a place to stay, be advised that the Travelodge at H and
11th Streets is no longer in business. However, the Best Western Sutter
House is just across the street and offers free parking, a continental
breakfast and a AAA discount. The phone number is 916-441-1314. Ask for
the manager's special, which is less than the standard price.
