An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
  1. Al-Khwarizmi : the inventor of algebra Brezina, Corona
 2. Famous flights : understanding and using variables Roza, Greg
These ( 1 & 2) are short little books with history and practical application
in the POWER MATH series,. They are aimed at younger kids, but the are nice
little nuggets.
Secrets, Lies, and Algebra Lichtman, Wendy from ³Do the Math² series
which is suppose to have more books coming out
