This is interesting. Data collection by the Accelerated Reader people.
What kids are reading across the country - by grade level, gender, and
region. It's telling. Not too much variety. The Outsiders still a
favorite. Good 'ol SE Hinton. It makes one wonder:
Are kids mostly reading assigned lit? How do movies influence reading
choices? For the most part, these findings reflect my students' choices.
Harry Potter and Lemony Snicket rule the world. Take a look. Ponder.
