The AP Bio teacher here sent me this email he got from the AP Bio
people. I looked at it and wanted to pass it on. I like what I have
seen so far.

David,

This was recommended by my AP Bio. message board. I checked it out
briefly and it is definitely the type of medium that students would get
into and it appears to be as "neutral" as journalism can get. Check out
the China story.

Here's a new online magazine that is worth taking a look at for a
glimpse into the rich online culture. It's called FLYP (
http://www.flypmedia.com). It's a biweekly mag (produced by Digital
Media International in NYC) and it covers everything from politics to
culture to entertainment. It's got a really clean and elegant design
and, I think, represents a very intriguing storytelling model. They
very effectively incorporate video into every story - love the
point/counter-point idea "both sides speak their mind". But
particularly take note of the full range of Web 2.0 tools that the
magazine uses (blogs, chat, sharing, social bookmarking) - this is a
great example of the a more participatory, collaborative information
environment that our students are living in.
