I did have Schwabe come do a book fair at our Middle School school site.  I allocated $100 per teacher (at Schwabe prices that was worth $200 per teacher).  I was able to specify age and subjects that fit our curriculum.  The intent was to provide  reading materials for each teacher's classroom, so the books could be paperback if that was what they wanted. They had books that were appropriate even for our Math and PE teachers! The company did provide a nice pizza lunch (I brought in salad to supplement lunch) and I think our teachers were pleasantly surprised at the selection and amount of books they could choose from.  I provided school stamps for them to mark the books and explained that these books were the property of the school  (Schwabe even allowed our staff to purchase books for their own use if desired!).  I even got the admin to pick out some of the hardback copies they thought would be good in the library.  We even were able to get paperback books suitable for student incentives for testing and other programs we were having.  Having each teacher pick their own choice of books made for a nice day where they were able to talk, shop and eat together and was very pleasant.  The staff that Schwabe sent to our school were very professional and nice to work with.  As the librarian, I did have to enter each book for the library by hand into our system, but since the majority went into each classroom it was not a big chore - the fun and goodwill generated by sharing with everyone made it worth it for me!
