[CALIBK12] Closing Libraries

The Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education will meet this evening to
deliberate and vote on budget reductions. Among the proposals is to close
all school libraries at all school levels. I will report back as to what
happens, but in the meantime, I would like to thank those people on the
calibk12 that responded to my original request to offer their comments and
invite them, and anyone who is facing this, to read what others have
written. It includes a very diplomatic letter from CSLA, remarks from public
librarians, other teacher librarians, teachers, parents, and students. Some
people are so articulate and points were well made.

3) Scroll down to ³Item F-1 Budget Recommendations² and click on the red

4) Scroll down to Comments #128-243 (items 67-71) beginning on page 56 to
read the comments sent in on the items to eliminate Library Media Teachers,
Library Technicians, and close all school libraries.
