[CALIBK12] Same series, different authors

What advice can you all give me concerning how to shelve books within
the same series but with different authors?  I am a new library media
tech, setting up a brand new library and have been finding books all
over the place that I would like to group together.  Examples are the
W.I.T.C.H. books, American Girl and Bionicles.  

 

Also, can anyone tell me why the Geronimo Stilton books are classified
by the first three letters of the first word of the title rather than
the author?  Help!
