Back to the basics of eating...
 
Remembering the Convention Center is on J/K and 13th/14th, let's say the  
line seems too long at the concessions stands in the Exhibit Hall and you want  
something for lunch, or perhaps breakfast. There are several places down K  
street (in the "no cars allowed" section right out the Center's doors that might  
fill the bill. Crest Cafe _www.crestcafesacramento.net_ 
(http://www.crestcafesacramento.net/)  is  within two blocks and offers Mediterranean cuisine. 
Nearby on K St. are  Magnolia Grill (across from the IMAX), Ambrosia Cafe, Pyramid 
Ale _www.pyramidbrew.com/home.php_ (http://www.pyramidbrew.com/home.php)  is  
at 10th and K and Gallagher's Pub is located with The Broiler 
_www.thebroilersteakhouse.com_ (http://www.thebroilersteakhouse.com/)  which  we mentioned 
previously at 12th and K.
 
Tantric, offering breakfast and lunch as well as hot and cold  drinks, is 
right across from the Center, and next door to it is Esquire  Grill, more upscale 
and one of the locally owned and operated "Paragarys"  restaurants, along 
with nearby Spataro on L between 14th and 15th and  Cosmo Cafe and 10th and K

Capitol. Crepeville at 17th and  L is an order at the counter, casual crepe 
and salad place, also serving  breakfast. Pizza can also be found at Chicago

a little farther away at 24th and J - a cab or car is a good idea.
 
And, if Caribbean cuisine is exactly what you were hungering for,  
Celestine's at 1815 K will do the trick.
