I second that! Jeff Savage is the bomb! He visited my school when I was in the library at a junior high, and the kids adored him. I even had a serious gang-banger start reading-w/ Jeff's books, but he actually continued and raised his grades considerably. Great author, and lots of fun.

I would like to enthusiastically recommend award-winning author Jeff Savage.  He visited our school this week and spoke to cheering students in grades 1 through 6.  He has  written 174 books, mostly about sports and sports figures, which is especially useful for those of you who are trying to incorporate more non-fiction into your curriculum.  His presentations were appropriate to grade level and appealed to boys and girls. Students and teachers are giving him rave reviews.
