[CALIBK12] Join my CSLA conference workshop on Nov. 20...from a distance

Hi Rob,

Can we join you "silently" from another workshop too? Multitask? Will this work on a Macbook? Just thought I would ask. I encourage people to come to this workshop. It was great last year. It's great to share what everyone is doing with web 2.0 tools and finding out about the latest ones. Are you going to invite Joyce Valenza and Doug Johnson to "Skype" in this year?

I think it would be great to have a session on what TLs are doing to overcome excessive filtering of web 2.0 tools or creative ways they have discovered to at least allow teacher access to web 2.0 tools.

I hope you are going to post what you can from your session on the wiki for us if we don't make it into the room.

See you all soon.

Hello CSLA Members and Friends:

Thanks to the CSLA Conference committee and in the spirit of the Library 2.0 philosophy (sharing and collaboration), I would like to invite up to 20 people to join my workshop "live" from a distance as a "Virtual Partner" or guest. As a virtual partner, you can participate from a distance and, at the same time, help demonstrate one part of what I am showing in the workshop - how to collaborate and share outside the walls of your library and school. Perhaps you were in this workshop at last year's conference and want to share what you have done with Library 2.0 tools since then or you're just curious what all this Library 2.0 talk is all about or you want to learn more. The workshop is on Nov. 20 from 1:00-3:00 pm (PST) so you would need to be online at that time to participate.

I will be using the Elluminate system which is a type of online conferencing system that anyone can use from their computer.
Instructions to join are below. The developing workshop is on my wiki at: http://robdarrow.wikispaces.com .

**Sign on 15 minutes early to ensure your technology is working. To talk and ask questions in the workshop from a distance, be sure to have a headset with a microphone ($15.00 at Radio Shack) and turn on the sound on your computer. Click on the link below to join (may need to copy and paste this URL into your browser to make it work): https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?password=M.186A3CB9A29239399BFFFF08D08A99.

Please reply to this email so I know you will be joining...and I would love to have several of you share your ideas as part of this workshop as well.

Thanks,
Rob
