[CALIBK12] Graffiti Resources

As a tag to this, last year when I was speaking in Long Island, a
librarian came up to me at a break. She worked at an inner city school
that has lots of issues. Long story short, they built a new state of the
art facility for these kids. Concerned that graffiti or damage to the
property would be an issue, but knowing which gangs would do it, they
created a Patrol Group and got that gang to be "in charge." Their job
was to report any suspicious activity and cut down on the graffiti. Get
this- it worked!

Subject: [CALIBK12] Graffiti Resources

I have had books on this topic which have all but disappeared so at this
time I've given up on that front. However, I am looking for any online
resources for graffiti text information for student research projects
(filters kill us on this topic) ArtCrimes and DeviantArt seem to have
some good info but as far as subscription databases I'm not having much
luck. I can't wait for a publisher to put out an opposing viewpoints
type book on this topic of graffiti vs art. Any links would be helpful,
thanks!
