On February 26, 2009 the Santa Clara County Office of Education is hosting an all day workshop with Nancy Pearl.
This event is open to everyone and it will be OUTSTANDING!!!

Description:  Nancy will discuss the ABC's of working with kids and teens:  Reader's Advisory, Book Talks, and Book Clubs.   

Advisory:  Focus on defining, identifying, and using the concept of doorways to effectively match up a reader with just the right book.  Discussion on how mood and motivation affect whether or not a reader will enjoy a particular book.  

Book Talks:  Focus on tips for preparing and delivering book talks.  

Book Clubs:  Running a book discussion group, including choosing books and keeping the discussion going and under control.
