A Week of Raccoons by Gloria Whelan has a map integral to the story, but it doesn't involve treasure.

Subject: [CALIBK12] QUERY: picture book with treasure map

A second grade teacher is looking for a picture book where a map is a significant plot device -- for example, a child finds a map and follow it, or someone makes a map. She and I both seem to remember such a story about a treasure map, but the usual pirate stories in our library aren't what we're looking for.

If you know such a book, or if you can recommend a picture book that fits (it doesn't have to be about pirates/treasure maps), please let me know.

Please reply directly to me, as I receive the digest, and I won't see a reply just to the list until later today.

Thanks!
