[CALIBK12] Audio Books Justification?

Oh... I meant to say that my son read the books along with the tapes. The tapes filled in the words he didn't know, and kept him  reading at a pace, so he comphrehended a lot more!

 I do believe that a student should also have a print copy of the book in hand so that they can make references to theme, character, plot, setting, and to use to quote the author’s actual words to validate their point of view in a book report.

I think Pam is exactly right here. When we check out a Playaway, we include the book and encourage the student to read along. That being said, I fully understand that some of the books that get checked out are done so specifically because that student currently does not have the ability to read at that level. 
 
And that's okay. That's why I provide yet one more reading support like Playaways. So that, in my case, middle school readers can sometimes have access to middle school books.
