[CALIBK12] Thanks for Audio Book Comments

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to all those who sent supportive comments and suggestions in response to my post about audio books. The teacher with whom I had the conversation actually came by and apologized to me this morning..) There is some tension in that department at this moment and it seems that spilled over into our discussion.

I also think I focused too much on the "cool" aspect of the Playaways (I'm a sucker for gadgets) rather than their legitimate place in our collection. I just expected everyone to ooh and ahhh over them, and was caught off guard when they didn't. And I was embarrassed I didn't have a good justification for why we have them. (I think we all have in the back of our minds titles in our collection that we know we may someday have to defend. We're prepared with a ready justification when the time comes. I guess I need to have such a justification for audio books.)

Anyhow, thanks for your support and advice.

Oh, and someone asked about speed control on Playaways. Yes they do have that feature.
