Hello CALIB friends
We just had 8 days of school visits by author Greg Trine. He is the
author of the Melvin Beederman, Superhero series of books for 3rd-5th
grade kids. In many ways, he was the most popular author we have ever
had here. His books are fun and funny, plus they lend themselves to all
kinds of writing exercises and they are great examples of the six traits
of writing. Children were literally raiding their piggy banks to buy his
books. First graders that were (mostly) read to loved them, and even
jaded sixth graders got into the "If I were a superhero..." ideas. We
see children sitting all over the playgrounds at recess reading and
laughing. 
 
Greg lives in Ventura, and he does not overcharge (relatively) for his
