Hello Calibbers!

The CSLA conference theme is all about making connections. Now is an
excellent time to start making those connections by presenting at
content area and special interest conferences. Presenting at a
conference is an incredibly enriching experience. Classroom teachers
and other educators are grateful for the information that librarians
can provide - especially when you present something useful: something
they can "take home and use on Monday".

"Call for presenters" are now coming due for many Spring 09
conferences. Check out the list of conferences on the CDE site [http://www.cde.ca.gov/re/ca/cc/
]
  to get a start on those conferences that might be of interest to you.

The Charter schools conference call for proposal deadline is this
Friday - but what an opportunity to educate those many administrators
and teachers at charter schools about the need for a Teacher
Librarian! Check out the proposal info: http://www.cde.ca.gov/re/ca/cc/

Advocating for Teacher Librarian jobs is an 'all year' sort of job and
what better way to advocate than by educating? Give it a try!
