Hello everyone,
I have been lurking for a while, and I am truly amazed with
the list (all of the resources, interesting questions and
projects, etc.). I hope to join you as a teacher librarian
in the somewhat near future.
I have an MLIS, and I am making the transition from a public
librarian to hopefully a school librarian in the next two
years - I have to earn my teaching credential first.
I have just resigned my position as a children's librarian
so that I can begin the teaching credential program. My
main area of interest is information literacy, and I have
designed a few worksheets that I use when classes come to
the library.
I would like to know what do you recommend I do in the mean
time in order to keep my professional skills current? If
you can recomend free or low cost training opportunites
since I will unemployed for a while. What should I
concentrate in order to maximize job opportunities once I
obtain both credentials?
Thank you so much for any helpful advice you can give me.
