Q: Are test variations available for English learners?
A: Yes. Test variations are available to English learners who regularly use them in the classroom. Examples include being tested in a separate room with other English learners, additional supervised breaks, extra time within the testing day, English-to-primary language or primary language-to-English translation glossaries, or allowing students to hear a translated version of the test directions and to ask clarifying questions in their primary language.

This says glossaries are okay but apparently the glossaries are developed by districts. I've sent a query to the CAHSEE office to see if they have more information OR, a glossary! Barbara

Subject: [CALIBK12] CAHSEE English glossary

A teacher at my school would like to get a copy of the
English Language Arts glossary that ESL students are
allowed to use while taking the California High School Exit
Exam. Does anyone know if there is one? I have the math
version that I received through this listserv so I'm hoping
someone will know about the English Language Arts glossary.
Thank you for your help!!
