Teachers Night with the Terra Cotta Warriors at the Bowers Museum in
Santa Ana is
THIS FRIDAY - September 26, from 10:30 pm to midnight:30 and teachers
will work on a lesson plan, munch goodies, and visit the Terra Cotta
Warriors in the dark (with Lantern Light!) (Region 3 [CSLASS] will pay
the entry fee of - $15 - for CSLA members) FYI - Teacher's membership
at the museum is $45 and includes 2 free tickets to the exhibit.

Today I visited the TC Warriors in the daylight and the exhibit is
excellent. I am looking forward to going back on Friday night and again
on Saturday if enough people RSVP for that! The entry fee for Saturday
(day) is $25 (again CSLA SS Region 3 will pay for your entry fee if you
are a CSLA membr.)

WE need an immediate RSVP as the museum wants to be paid in advance. We
will need to drop a check off in person as it is so late. (They just
told me all this today) Please RSVP to me or to Pam Oehlman today.
Either visit will be worth while. If you go on Saturday take advantage
of the museum restaurant. It is excellent also.

They do put a time on the tickets, so the sooner we can get our
reservations the better. I will notify all who RSVP of the time we will
be meeting to enter. I am looking forward to seeing MANY of you among
the TC Warriors!!

The museum's description of the Midnight Rendezvous
with the Terra Cotta Warriors follows.

"What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels
about education." - Harold Howe, former Secretary of Education

"Whatever the cost of our libraries, the price is cheap compared to that
of an ignorant nation." - Walter Cronkite, Newscaster

"I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness
about the underpinnings of our culture and our concren for the future
can all be tested by how well we support our libraries."
