I just want to extend a huge thank you to Lesley Farmer for posting
these research updates on the listserv. We all know that the attention
to current research truly rests in the university realm, and we in the
K-12 world are grateful to have these periodic updates to help keep us
current.
I pass these research updates along to my colleagues, who have in turn
expressed their gratitude for receiving them.
Sincerely,
Susan

Subject: [CALIBK12] [CSLA Research Update] Multitasking study
Multitasking may slow students down
College students' reading comprehension may not be hampered by
interruptions from instant messages, but researchers found that those
who try to multitask by reading an assignment and text messaging at the
same time are about 15 minutes slower in working through their reading
assignments versus their peers who work sequentially.
