[CALIBK12] Chess and reading information

It seems that Randy's brother and I were able to find only one article presenting evidence about chess and reading: we both cited the same one, Margolis.
The real problem here is the irresponsibility of USA Today, which provides no evidence that chess has any effect, and never mentions the obvious cure, reading books, to improve reading. Yet it is easy to read the article and come away with the feeling that the case for chess is well-established.
By the way, I think Randy's brother's evidence for chess is stronger than Margolis' which is really only based on the unusual gains of a few students. Without those few, chess didn't make much of a difference.
