This brings up a relatively new issue for us.

We had to revise our textbook replacement policy to say that we would only
accept textbooks and calculators that did not have previous property stamps.
Any book turned in as a replacement must have all the original pages
including the cover, inside cover and title page. Calculators must not have
obliterated numbers or identifying marks. All textbooks turned in to
replace lost or damaged textbooks must be in new or good condition and must
have the identical ISBN to the original book.

We have had calculators turned in which belonged to colleges and other high
schools in the area. We have had parents attempt to turn in replacement
books with other schools stamps or the inside cover pages removed or
replaced. I try to explain that we cannot take materials that appear to
belong to other schools, even if the parent purchased them on ebay. Parents
are pretty understanding now that we give them this information before they
attempt to purchase the replacement book.

Anybody out there from Wright Middle School? I just had a student bring in
a Holt Life Science barcode # SCI20224 as a replacement for his lost science
book. Mom bought it online. I'd like to send it back to you, but there is
no address property stamp in the book.
