Colleagues:
Please plan to attend the HBUHSD Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 14th at 7:30 pm to address the Board of Trustees on the Superintendent's recommendation to cut all Library Media Specialist positions in the district.   A vote was taken to move forward with the recommendation on March 10th and was passed 4 to 1 , but further study was recommended after the March 31st meeting.
My 14-year-old daughter, Noelle, addressed the Board on March 31st, with an eloquent letter about school librarians and I addressed the Board, as a parent and TL, on Doug Achterman's studies--Strong School Libraries in California--the impact on student academic achievement.
