NBPTS to Create Library Media Standards Committee
April 7, 2009

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is accepting applications from educators who wish to serve on the NBPTS Library Media Standards Committee. Applications must be completed by Friday, May 15, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

As part of the NBPTS ongoing mission to provide leading standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do, NBPTS Standards Committees are periodically formed to review the standards.

Practicing classroom teachers fill a majority of seats on standards committees with other members representing districts, states and higher education. Committees reflect the nationâl regional and ethnic diversity as well as the range of teaching contexts and professional views that exist about what constitutes accomplished teaching.

Educators interested in applying can visit http://www.nbpts.org/the_standards/standards_committees
